Mary Rendulich Obituary

Mary 'Carol' (Yates) Rendulich, 86, of Greensburg, died Sunday, May 12, 2024, in Independence Health System Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. She was born July 5, 1937, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Harry and Catherine (Collins) Yates. Carol was a graduate of Mount Lebanon High School, where she was a Rockette. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg, where she was active in the prayer line. Carol was a proud graduate of the Westmoreland School of Nursing in 1959. She loved being a nurse and caring for others, even after leaving nursing as a profession to start her family. Carol continued to care for anyone in need and was always willing to lend an ear to anyone with a healthcare concern. Carol continued to educate herself in nursing and healthcare in general. She was instrumental in coordinating nursing school reunions and remained in touch with her classmates throughout her life. She also volunteered as a school nurse and a blood bank nurse. Carol was a voracious reader and loved going to many regional libraries. She loved car rides to her favorite places, including Ligonier and her beloved Pittsburgh. She had a passion for cooking and baking that was appreciated by everyone. Carol loved her 'posies' and planning her flower gardens and porch flower boxes. Carol's devotion to her family came above all else. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. Carol's passion and joy were raising her children, and she adored her daughters-in-law and sons-in-law. She was always up to date on her grandchildren's lives and loved to share her family's accomplishments with others. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Rendulich. Carol is survived by her children, Anthony Rendulich and wife Dolores, Mary Beth Ciocco and husband Timothy, Stephen Rendulich and wife Becky, Christine Honan and husband Daniel, and Michael Rendulich; five grandchildren, Angelina and Caroline Ciocco, and Hannah, Marissa, and Anthony Rendulich; her sister, Christine Yates, of Berryville, VA; her brother, Edward Yates and wife Jill, of Columbia, SC; her sister-in-law, Mary Rendulich, of Rilton, PA; many loved nieces and nephews; and her granddoggy, Penelope. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Prayers will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2024, in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg. Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greensburg Hempfield Area Library, 237 South Pennsylvania Ave., Greensburg, PA 15601. www.bachafh.com

Tony, I am so sorry for your loss. I just got back from Alabama and saw this. I was there for Greg's wedding and was completely focused on that. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Tony, Marybeth, Christine, Steven and Michael, I was so sad to hear of the passing of your dear mother Carol. I remember her kindness and her good sense of humor. She always had a funny story to tell. One thing for sure.... She loved her children beyond measure.
May she rest in peace
Sincerely, Patty McLaughlin (Butter)
