Myrtle Hladney Obituary

Myrtle S. Hladney, 66, of Allegheny Township, died 10:45 p.m. Saturday (March 20, 2004) at her home.

She was born Jan. 16, 1938, in Marionville. Mrs. Hladney was a member of Sylvania Hill Baptist Church, Rochester, Pa. She enjoyed drawing and painting. Survivors include two sons, George (Cindy) Hladney of Freeport and Matthew (Therese) Hladney of Brackenridge; five daughters, Mrs. Rose (Keith) Kun of Erie, Mrs. Cheryl (Charles) Carr of Pine Hill, N.J., Mrs. Victoria (David) Burkett of Allegheny Township, June Walker of Buffalo Township, and Mrs. Melissa (Mike) Queen of Narvon; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy Donnelly of Pittsburgh. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander J. Hladney, in 1996; an infant daughter, Agnes Hladney; her parents, Arthur Brink and Pearl Shimpino Pfister; and her stepfather, Raymond Pfister. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 High Street, Freeport, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Her pastor, the Rev. Michael L. Bailey, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205-4620.
