Philip Giaccardo Obituary

Philip J. Giaccardo, 88, of Spring Church, passed away Monday, Aug. 23, 2010, in West Haven Nursing Home, Washington Township. Philip was born Oct. 31, 1921, in Apollo, to the late Michael and Madelina Brusso Giaccardo. He was a member of the Apollo Assembly of God. Philip enjoyed woodworking, fishing, carpentry and throwing horseshoes. Out of all his pastimes, he enjoyed reading the Bible and spending time in God's word the most. He served his country in the Army Air Force and, before his retirement, he was a crane operator for Wean United. Philip is survived by his wife, Anne Tandaric Giaccardo; three daughters, Phyllis Souchock and her husband, Frank, of Vandergrift, Barbara Hancock and her husband, Randy, of Spring Church, and Roberta Hancock and her husband, Robert, of Apollo; three grandchildren, Abby Colucci and her husband, Tony, of Ohio, Zachary and Courtney Hancock, of Spring Church; and a sister, Katie Giaccardo, of Apollo. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the KELLY L. CORRIDONI FUNERAL HOME LTD., 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo. Services will held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Sean O'Dell officiating. Interment will be private. To send or view online condolences, visit us at www.corridonifuneralhome.com.
