Philip G. McNaughton

1942 - 2025

Philip G. McNaughton, 83, of New Alexandria, passed away Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, at his home. Born Sept. 6, 1942, in Latrobe, he was the son of the late John W. McNaughton and Margaret Theresa (Carr) McNaughton. Philip was a member of St. James Catholic Church, New Alexandria. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed at Kennametal and had been a veteran of the U.S. Army. An avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he also enjoyed golfing and camping. He will be lovingly remembered as a hard-working family man. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John "Jack," Robert "Ron," and Gregory McNaughton. Philip is survived by his wife of 56 years, Janet (Prah) McNaughton, of New Alexandria; one son, Ryan P. McNaughton, of New Alexandria; two sisters, Kathleen Reid of New Alexandria and Mary Janice Menanno and her husband, Lewis, of Jeannette; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, at St. James Catholic Church, New Alexandria, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Martin Cemetery, New Derry, where military services will be conducted by the VFW Post No. 33, Greensburg.
