Ramona Angelica Prado

Ramona Angelica Prado, 91 years of age, passed away peacefully in her home on September 17, surrounded by her loving family.

Ramona (Angie) was born on May 3rd, 1934, in Needles, CA. She later moved to Pittsburg, CA, where she graduated from Pittsburg High School. Then she moved to Oakland, CA, where she worked as a telephone operator for Pacific Bell before retiring from Jc Penny's. She fell quickly and deeply in love with John Prado. In 1961 they rooted themselves in Pleasant Hill, CA, and lived there for the rest of their lives.

Ramona was a woman of strength and deep convictions. Everyone knew her as a warrior. She touched the lives of countless people with her kindness, generosity, and her unwavering love. Her legacy will forever be etched in our hearts.

Ramona was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her nine children: Veronica, John (Crystal), Frank, Danny (Mary), Marty (Janis), Angelica, Thomas (Frances), Larry (Jenny), and Guadalupe (Neal), 32 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her devoted, loving husband, John; and her dear, beautiful, and beloved granddaughter, Mia Prado.

Throughout her life, Ramona was known for her artistic drawings and her prolific writing. Her favorite subject was her family. She was also well-known for the fierce love of her Catholic faith. Her legacy will live on through the memories we shared, the values she instilled upon us, and the love she gave. We take solace in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 30, at 4-8PM, with a Rosary service at 7PM, at Ouimet Mortuary on Clayton Road in Concord.

Holy Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 10 AM, at the Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinez, CA.

Burial will take place at Oakmont Cemetery at 12 noon.

Funeral luncheon to follow at Zio Fraedos Restaurant in Pleasant Hill.
