He was born Aug. 29, 1940, in New Kensington, the son of August and Matilda Castorina Saccamano.
He was a graduate of New Kensington High and Kent State University and then he served his country in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Saccamano was an industrial sales representative.
Richard was an avid sports fan, in particular a Boardman Spartins booster.
He leaves his wife, the former Vicki Clausen, whom he married Feb. 7, 1970; a son, Michael C. Saccamano of Boardman; a daughter, Maria A. (David) Owens of Boardman; a grandson, Jakob Owens of Boardman; a sister, Carol Saccamano of Lower Burrell; and a special sports friend, David Yanssen.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the FOX FUNERAL HOME, 4700 Market St., Youngstown, Ohio, where services will be held following visitation.
