Robert L. Cartwright

Robert L. Cartwright, 85, of Vandalia, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010 at Grandview Hospital. He was born Dec. 19, 1925, in Sligo, a son of the late Ronald and Sarah R. Cartwright. Robert was a retired employee of the West Penn Power Co. with 41 years of service, an Army Air Corps veteran, a member of Polk Grove United Church of Christ and a former member of Logan's Ferry Presbyterian Church in New Kensington. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Duane and Ralph. Robert is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ethel (Welsh), of Vandalia, Ohio; daughter, Carol Sue Davila, of Vandalia, Ohio; one son, Robert A. and wife, Marilyn Cartwright, of Florence, Ky.; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Polk Grove United Church of Christ, 9190 Frederick Pike, Dayton, Ohio, with the Rev. John Fowler officiating.
