Robert Finley Obituary

Robert E. Finley, 53, of Allegheny Township, died Thursday, June 7, 2007, at his home, unexpectedly. He was born Dec. 5, 1953, in Harrison Township, a son of Audrey M. (Hobaugh) Finley, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., and the late E. Robert Finley. He had lived the past five years in Allegheny Township and, prior to that he had lived in Natrona Heights. He graduated from Highlands High School in 1971. He was the owner/operator of Finley Refrigeration for 30 years and had also worked for Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp. in Brackenridge for 18 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force, and was Catholic by faith. He was a member of the Oregon Hunting and Fishing Club and the American Legion, both of Brackenridge, and the Natrona Heights VFW. He enjoyed watching his sons play baseball and watching their other sporting events. He enjoyed his family and friends and especially enjoyed cooking out for his sons and their friends. Mr. Finley was looking forward to meeting his future granddaughter, who is expected in July. In addition to his mother, survivors include his sons, Robert J. Finley and Nicole Tempest, with whom he resides, of West Leechburg, and Michael A. Finley, of Natrona Heights; his companion, Marlane (Carney) Saye, with whom Mr. Finley resided; brother, David K. (Linda) Finley, of Natrona Heights; sister, Kathleen (Daniel) Jendrzcjewski, of Tarentum, and a number of nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME INC., Tenth Avenue at Corbet Street, Tarentum, 724-224-1526, where a blessing service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Gary W. Krummert, parochial vicar of Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, officiating. Burial will be private. The Brackenridge American Legion will meet at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home, the Oregon Club will also meet in the funeral home Sunday.
