Sondra Sharp

1967 - 2024

Sondra Jean Newell Sharp, 57, of Surfside Beach, SC, formerly of North Huntingdon, passed away Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024, at Grand Strand Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, SC. She was born Jan. 25, 1967, in Jeannette, and is the daughter of R. Terence "Terry" and Carol (Gilbert) Newell of North Huntingdon. She was a graduate of Norwin High School class of 1985 and of Bradford Business School. Sondra loved to travel and was a real estate agent in Ohio, Colorado, California, and South Carolina. She also worked as an administrative assistant for law practices in Washington, DC, and California. Sondra is remembered by her family as being exceptionally giving, talented, and creative with incredible fashion sense. Her husband, Paul, always said she was a wonderful cook, and they enjoyed entertaining. She also loved all animals and cared for many that needed her comfort. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her best friend and beloved husband, Paul H. Sharp; her brother, Bruce (Heather) Newell; and nieces, Kendra Newell and Brooke Newell (Joseph) Wright. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends and her loyal dog, Jonny. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024, at the GILBERT FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC., 6028 Smithfield St., Boston, Elizabeth Township. Sondra's funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, by Pastor Sarah Lee-Faulkner of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at the Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Main St., Irwin, PA 15642 or Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
