Steven D. Abate

Steven Derek Abate, 53, of Allegheny Township, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, in his home. He was born in New Kensington on May 28, 1972, to Linda J. Steffan Harrison of Leechburg and the late David L. Abate and had been a resident of Allegheny Township for the majority of his life. Mr. Abate worked as a project manager for BNY Mellon for 30 years until retiring in 2023. He was a member of the Toastmasters and BNY Mellon and enjoyed heavy metal concerts, WWII history, taking care of his animals, hunting, and traveling. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Petty Officer 2nd Class Osric Abate, U.S. Navy; three daughters, Calliope, Cecilia Trinity, and Catrina Abate; and their mother, Cletus Marie (Cibrone) Abate all of Pittsburgh; brother, Anthony Abate of Washington, DC; sister, Leanne (David) Swickline of New Bern, NC; and stepmother, Debra Abate of Lower Burrell. Friends will be received from 5 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2025, by Rev.
