William "Billy" Moore, 54, of Vandergrift, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2022, in the Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. Born March 31, 1968, in Natrona Heights, he is the son of the late John Nicholas and Mary Louise Riggle Moore. Bill had been employed by the Vandergrift Police Department as a patrolman, having worked in law enforcement for the past 26 years. He was member of the Hebron Evangelical Lutheran Church in Leechburg, and life member of the Vandergrift VFW Post 566. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating, trips to Myrtle Beach with his family and watching the Steelers and Penguins. Survivors include his children, Nicholas "Nick" Moore, of Gilpin, Alyssa Kamer, of Leechburg, and Christopher Moore, of Gilpin; three sisters, Sharon (Larry) Wolfe, of Adrian, Mary Beth Moore, of Leechburg, and Heather (Scott) Compton, of Hyde Park; two brothers, John N. (Paula) Moore II, of Gilpin, and Dennis G. Moore, of Hyde Park; his good friends, Andy (Judy) Tvrdovsky, of Vandergrift; along with numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his canine partner, Coco. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the DUNMIREKERR & ROWE FUNERAL HOME INC., 244 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday with Pastor James Arter officiating. Interment will be in Forks Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Gilpin Township. The F.O.P. Lodge No. 39 will hold a chapel service at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
