ALFRED REIMANN Obituary

Alfred Reimann Was born in Switzerland on February 16, 1932, and died suddenly on March 9, 2018, of unknown causes in the home of his daughter, Heidi Reimann, of Los Angeles. Alfred moved to Tacoma in 1959 and later to Gig Harbor, where he built a Swiss chalet and had a small farm, meanwhile working at the Tacoma smelter for 25 years. Later in life he returned to Switzerland and then moved to Germany, where he built a log cabin on the Rhine River. Alfred is survived by his three children, Lisa, Heidi, and Seppo, and by three siblings, Paul Reimann of Bothell, and Rudolf Reimann and Marta Gyger of Switzerland. His remains will be placed on two continents and in the mountains he so loved. No formal services will be held.

Wir sind sehr traurig über den Tod von Alfred und sprechen seiner Tochter Heidi unser tief empfundenes Mitgefühl aus. Tröstlich ist vielleicht, dass er nicht allein im kalten Deutschland, sondern bei ihr im sonnigen Kalifornien, von dem er immer schwärmte, sterben konnte und nun von seinen starken Schmerzen erlöst ist. Alfreds Vater war ein Bruder meines Vaters, wir waren also Cousins. Ich habe Alfred vor etwa 10 Jahren kennen gelernt, und wir haben uns sporadisch gesehen, miteinander telefoniert oder geschrieben. Meine Frau Kathrin und ich werden ihn in ehrender Erinnerung behalten.
