Anna Van Hulle Obituary
April 19, 1931 - January 6, 2021
Puyallup, Washington - Anna (Roller) Van Hulle passed away on January 6, 2021, at age 89 in Puyallup, WA.
She was born on April 19, 1931 to Emil and Mabel Roller. She grew up in Tacoma, where she lived nearly all her life, and made lifelong friendships at Lincoln High School. In 1952 she married David Van Hulle. They made a wonderful life together with their two children. She was known for her kindness, positive energy, and infectious smile. Anna was a member of St. John of the Woods Catholic Church, and she worked many years at Twin Cedars Florist, as well as being a tireless volunteer.
She was very active in the Waller Road Grange, working with Junior Grange, the Puyallup Fair agricultural displays, as well as Pierce County and Washington State Grange offices. She was a master planner for the livestock exhibits at the Waller Road Fair, and won plenty of ribbons for her wonderful pies.
She relished many travel tours, and was delighted to be able to visit Australia, New Zealand, Germany, and Fiji, among others. She also enjoyed several cruises, some of which involved friends from high school with whom she stayed in touch.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave, daughter, Rebecca, brother, Bob Roller, and sister, Elsa Kasemeier. She is survived by her brother Dick (Jackie) Roller, daughter Cindy (Leslie) Van Hulle, son Tim (Jennifer) Van Hulle, granddaughters Becky (Jason) Smith, and Katie (Alex) Layton, and great-grandsons Brody Smith, Benson Smith, and Charlie Layton. She will be greatly missed.
There will be no memorial service at this time due to Covid restrictions. Many thanks to her wonderful friends and caregivers at Julian Estates and Life Care Center of Puyallup, who made her final years comfortable and happy.
