Barbara Bryant Obituary

Barbara M. Bryant Born October 25, 1944, Barbara M. Bryant passed away peacefully on May 31, 2005 in her home in West Tacoma. She is survived by her sisters Beth Holmquist and Cherry Lewis, both of Enumclaw, her guardian, Helen Dickinson of Roy, and her roommate and friend of many years, Shelley Smith. Barb was a truly unique character and beloved client to many caregivers of Puget Sound Assisted Living over the past 14 1/2 years and she will forever be remembered for her lovably gruff exterior to strangers that masked a warm, gentle soul underneath. Naturally, she had certain, special items of enjoyment in her life, not the least of which were chocolate, coffee, going out to lunch, visiting with people, balloons, her purse, one-dollar bills, tea parties and, of course, her bear Skippy. A one-of-a-kind woman, Barb will be sorely missed by all who have had the pleasure to have known her. Though she spent much of her life dealing with developmental disabilities, Barb was able to accomplish much, including gaining employment through Vadis Northwest/Tempist and doing a job she loved, and building trusting, rewarding relationships with a host of people inspired by her example. Though we are deeply saddened by Barb's passing, her family and friends would like to invite anyone interested in sharing in the Celebration of her Life to attend a memorial service on Tuesday, June 7 at 1:00. Please call the PSAL business office at (253) 581-0714 for more info.
