BARBARA JACK Obituary

Barbara M. Jack Barbara Jack died on July 21, 2017. She was born May 22, 1938 in Chehalis, Washington to William (Pick) and Mable Trotter. After graduating from Stadium High School in 1956, Barbara attended the University of Puget Sound, where she met Norman B. Jack. Barb and Norm were married in 1957 while still in college. They later moved to Kirkland, and then Redmond to raise a family. In 1969 Barbara began a career in direct sales. Although a successful salesperson, she found her true calling as a trainer, mentor, and motivator. She went on to build and manage successful sales teams at Tupperware, DK Books, and others. She founded Leadership Plus, where she consulted as a motivational speaker and trainer. She also served as President of the Seattle chapter of the Women's Business Exchange as well as the Northwest Chapter of the National Speakers Association. Barbara's true success was measured in the many lives she touched and the many friends she made. She believed in leading from the heart, and in finding something redeeming in every situation and in every person. Her compassion and strong desire to be an uplifting force for others is also evident in her poetry. She believed that what you do is more important than what you do. Barbara is survived by her husband Norman, son Jay (wife Nan), daughter Jodi Simmons (husband Christopher), three grandchildren, Sean Simmons (fianc‚ Shelby Rogers), Travis Simmons, and Cierra Jack. Barbara was preceded in death by youngest son James N. Jack in an avalanche in 2012. Barbara is also survived by her brother Leland Trotter, and nieces Jennifer Milke (husband Doug), Suzanne Trotter, and Christine Trotter, and Jennifer's children Anderson Milke and Noah Milke. A memorial celebration of life will be announced at a later date. At Barbara's request, memorial donations can be made to The Ski Hill Memorial Fund, PO Box 573, Leavenworth, WA 98826; make checks payable to Leavenworth Ski Hill Heritage Foundation. After moving to Tacoma in 1981, my first "job" was selling Tupperware. I loved working with Barb, and Norm.
What a wonderful woman, I am sorry for your loss, she was an inspiration to all who came into her presence. May you find comfort in knowing you will see her again.
