Blanche Larson

Blanche Larson 1926 - 2004 Blanche Larson, 78, passed away peacefully Friday morning, Nov. 12, 2004, at her home with her family by her side. Blanche was born Oct. 23, 1926 to Art and Nora Knapp in Binford, ND. She was raised on the family farm and attended school in Binford. She married Wallace G. Larson on Dec. 10, 1944 in Binford. They had a farm near Leeds. In 1952 they moved to Tioga, ND and owned and operated The Larson Hotel, Motel & Trailer Court. In 1966 the family moved to Puyallup, WA, where Blanche worked at Valley Terrace Retirement Center as Dietician and Cook until she retired in 1987. They spent 12 winters in Yuma, AZ, where they made many more friends. She enjoyed her family, crocheting, quilting and puzzles. In the last few years she crocheted lap robes for local nursing homes through local VFW Post 2224. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Wallace, one brother, Donald (Jeanne) Knapp of Binford, and their four children: Bonnie (Dan) Killian, Roger (Diana) Larson, Patty (Dave) Simms and Linda (Ron) Dier; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchil- dren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her door was always open for coffee and her homemade donuts. Memorial service Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, 3 PM, POWERS FUNERAL HOME, 320 W. Pioneer Ave., Puyallup, WA. The family suggests a donation in Blanche's memory to Breast Cancer Research.
