BOBBY HYMAN Obituary

Bobby E. Hyman Bobby, best remembered for his infectious smile and consistently positive outlook, passed away on April 24th, 2018. Born in Sharpsburg, NC on June 6th, 1946, Bobby, the middle child of 13 siblings, enlisted in the Navy after graduation from high school. He worked his way from boilerman technician, through the warrant ranks, and, after 21-1/2 years of service to his country, retired as a Lieutenant. Never one to pass time idly, Bobby worked on merchant ships for nine more years, completed a college degree in electronic engineering technology, and developed a successful woodworking business. Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Ann, daughters Dee Alta Hyman and Tonita Williams (Don), grandson Donald, Jr., and many brothers, sisters, nephews, and nieces. A celebration of Bobby's life will take place on May 19th at 1:00 PM at Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup.

I served with Chief Hyman aboard the USS Wainwright. I was a mess cook in the chief’s mess. Chief Hyman taught me many useful things Including how to make bug juice. He was always kind and considerate to this lowly seaman.

I just cannot believe I will not be able to call you again. I will remember us serving at recruit training center company 453 1964. Then again on board the aircraft carrier USS SHANGRI-LA CVA 38. It was an honor to know you and to serve our country together. My 3 daughters and my wife fell in love with you and Ann when you stayed with us for a short while at our home in Missouri. I will never forget you. My prayers go out for Ann. May the good Lord touch her, and keep her.

He was the greatest man I have ever met! Always so full of joy and enough love to spread around. I learned so much from him because he knew so much and loved sharing his knowledge with everyone around him. He will be deeply missed! Rest in peace Bob.

I will miss Bobby, as many others will as well. He was so smart, kind, funny and the jack of all trades. He knew so much about many topics... therefore was easy to have an intelligent and interesting conversation with. I learned the basics of winemaking from Bobby. I was eager to learn more and am devastated, as many of his close family and friends are as well, that we cant experience our traditions with him any longer.
Im sorry for everyones loss. My heart hurts with you all.

Bobby was a funny, good humored, gifted, master craftsman, outstanding wine maker, and a fierce barbecue chef... Who is matched by his beloved Ann... Sympathy to the Hyman family during this time of grief, we grieve with you....

Bob, as we called him, was a very nice young boy who became a very nice man. I knew him from the age of 12. He was nice to our family as we were new to the neighborhood. My Mom thought he was smart and hard working even as a teen. Always friendly, smiling, and honorable. Truly a good guy. He will surely be missed. Condolences to the family. You all are in my prayers.
