Bryan Robison Obituary

Bryan Lee Robison
June 2, 1969 - August 25, 2022
Tacoma, Washington - Bryan Lee Robison was born June 2, 1969 and peacefully passed away of Glioblastoma Cancer on August 25, 2022. Born to Donna Gering (nee' Orr, Robison) and Bruce Robison, he was first grandchild on either side of the family, immediately bringing exponential joy to this already loving family. His dad was deployed to basic training when Bryan was 2 days old, which meant all of the women in Brys' life were left to fawn all over him for 2 years. His love of family started early and extended to the last breath he took
Bryan attended Wilson High School and lettered in 3 sports while he was there. A natural athlete, Bryan's true love was baseball, playing on a traveling team throughout his high school years. He was known for his kindness, competitive spirit and sense of humor. In the last months of high school, Bryan began having seizures which put a halt to any post-high school sports career, but his love of sports never left.
Bryan worked for nearly 20 years at JCPenney and then spent the last 10 years working at Costco. He loved working, and particularly the relationships he fostered while employed at both places. His one desire, even after he was diagnosed with cancer last fall, was to be able to return to work.
Bryan is survived by his mother, Donna Gering (Steve), father Bruce Robison (Cindy), Grandfather Dick Orr and sister Angie Caldwell (Kelly). Additionally, he considered himself the luckiest guy in the world, as he leaves behind an extended network of 'special' family members who may not have been blood related, but important in all aspects of his life. Leanne Lucas, Step-Brothers Eric Ryan (Melissa), Matt Gering (Maydi), Kyle Cater. Step-Sisters Courtney Meek (Josh) and Gina Clinton (Eric). Not having any children of his own, he especially cherished his nieces and nephews, Morgan, Archie, Hayden, Austin, Dylan, Masen, Camden, Hunter, Laila, Jonathan, Andrei and Esteban.
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, September 6 @2:00pm at Mountain View Funeral Home (Aspen Chapel), with a small reception following. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to Metro Parks to sponsor youth sports in memory of Bryan Robison (add his name in the notes field) Greater Metro Parks Foundation Donation or via mail at: Greater Metro Parks Foundation, 4702 South 19th, Tacoma, WA 98405.
Cancer sucks, but we are grateful for the caring support of Providence Hospice in Bryan's final weeks. We will miss his kind spirit every day, but we take comfort in knowing he's batting lead off and playing second base in heaven with Grandpa Leonard, Grandma Shirley and Grandma Joy.

Hi Bryan's family. You may not recognize me, I am Glen Fischer's sister, Denise. I babysat for you guys and remember watching the guys in many a baseball game in the day. And a great ball player Bryan was! I was so stunned at the news of Bryan's early passing. I always remember him with a smile on his face and a cute mop of curly hair. Was he a bit impish in general or did he just love teasing you Angie (I won't bring up the smartypants nickname he had for you as a kid). Last time I saw Bryan was at Glen's wedding. I was so happy to catch up with him. I wish I had magic words to ease your heartache. I send you comfort and strength. Rest In Peace dear Bryan. -Denise

You left a beautiful memory and a sorrow too great to be told but to us who loved and lost you your memory will never grow old. Always a silent heartache, many a tear but always a beautiful memory of one we loved so dear. God gave us strength to bear it and courage to take the blow what it meant to lose you, no one will ever know.

Great service for a great man. I met Bryan at Whittier and the continued school with him at Hunt and Wilson. One of my best memories of him was at a Hunt junior high basket ball game when I asked him before the game to shoot a basket for me and at the end of the game he found me and said "did you see that basket I made for you?"
I was able to reconnect with him on Facebook and even met up with him at a local bar in Tacoma and caught up with him. He was always so kind and am glad all these years didn´t go by without me being able to see him. 53 years is too short of life but I am sure he is free now of any pain and suffering he may have endured.
Rest In Peace and heaven Bryan.

Bryan had a beautiful soul and a beautiful smile, a kind warm man with a heart of gold. He will be missed by his family. Let the memories of Bryan bring warmth, peace and a smile to his family and friends.

I have many fond memories of Bryan from playing baseball with him in high school, to him coming out to watch me play softball about 12 years ago, to hanging out with him at our 30th high school reunion. Bryan was one of nicest guy I have ever met and was always smiling and happy. Such a great guy! He had a gentle but amazing soul that resonated from him every time I saw him. RIP BR, you will be missed but God needed you more in heaven than in earth.

For Bruce, friend and bandmate:
So sorry to hear of your tragic loss. Though I am on the other side of the world, we are burning incense in honor of Bryan and your family this evening. In fact, you should be sensing the sweet ness in the air right about now. My deepest thoughts are with you.

Your mate, Bill Wager
