Sumner, Washington - Cecilia L. Purvis (Marin)
Cecilia was born to Dwight and Lizzie (Vander Martin) Marin in Mobridge, SD on February 5, 1923. Cecilia graduated from Mobridge High School in 1940 and moved from South Dakota in 1947 to live in Washington State until her passing on October 6th, 2022 at the age of 99. During her 75 years in Washington, she lived in the Edgewood area for several years before becoming a long time resident of downtown Sumner. While living in Sumner, she was active in the local Historical Society, serving on their board and volunteering countless hours on fund raising projects. Cecilia was also very active in the Mt. View Lutheran church community, volunteering for many years as the church treasurer and council member as well as maker of hundreds of quilts with the Mt. View Lutheran Quilters and thousands of cookies for various church events.
Cecilia is survived by daughters Bea Hellis (Sam), Patty Seney (Mike) and Julie Purvis, grandchildren Andrew Prill (Michelle), Erin Raschke (Phil) and Kate Downing (Glen), ten great grandchildren, one great great grandson, nephews Scott Marin (Karen) and Jon Marin (Cathleen) and grand nephew Andrew Marin (Kimie). She was preceded in death by husbands John Koenig and Stanley Purvis, brother Jim "Leroy" Marin and grandson Sean Seney.

An old neighbor, I will always remember her. We always had stories to tell on the back fence. She was a beautiful person. Always so sweet.
She will always be missed by me.
