Clarice Skar Obituary

Clarice H. Skar Oct. 30, 1925 – Dec. 10, 2006 Clarice Hutchinson Skar went quietly home to her Lord and Savior December 10, 2006. She was born October 30, 1925 to John Thomas and Minnie Hutchinson in Darwen, Lancashire, England. She married her one true love, Alf O. Skar, August 27, 1949. Clarice was a devoted and loving mother to Sharon Skar of Lacey and Jacqueline Owens (David) of Lacey, a doting grandmother to Timothy Owens (Leara) of Reno, NV and Mi'kel Dawson (Chris) of Lacey, and an adoring "GG" to her great-granddaughters Crysta Dawson and Mikela Dawson, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member for 54 years of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where she a member of the choir, Prime Timers and the Priscilla Circle Clarice was very proud of her work with the Priscilla Circle, which earned the money for an elevator and then helped change laws which previously prevented an elevator from being installed in the church to make life easier for the elderly and disabled. During World War II, Clarice served in the United Kingdom's Women's Land Army, performing vital roles which allowed the men to serve in the armed forces. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to those who made her final days the best that they could possibly be. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the American Parkinson's Association or Mount Rainer Lutheran High School. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 3:30 PM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Tacoma with a reception following the service. Mountain View 253-584-0252
