Debbie LeMay-Shepherd Obituary

Debbie Lynn LeMay-Shepherd Passed on from her visit on this earth and took the hand of God on October 27, 2011. She was born in Aberdeen, WA on July 14, 1954, six minutes before her twin sister Dixie LeMay-Archer. Debbie loved the Lord, and cherished her time spent with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren, and was excited to be a part of her two sons' racing team, and spending time with them. She also embraced her stepchildren, and their children, as her own. Debbie loved traveling with her husband Ron to different NASCAR races, and spending time together at their home in Arizona. Her favorite past times included reading the Bible and completing jigsaw puzzles. She felt very blessed, and was so grateful to be able to share her blessings with others. Debbie is preceded in death by her father, Harold E. LeMay and brother Leon. She is survived by her mother, Nancy LeMay; her husband Ronald Shepherd; daughter Ashley (Skipper Kuzior); sons Chad and Ethan Boyles; Grandchildren Nancy and Deborah Kuzior; and step children; brothers Gene (Carla); Norm (Vicki); Hal (Liz); and Doug (Mary); sisters Barb (Tom Quinn); twin Dixie (Mike Archer) and many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. It has been bothering me that this Guest Book was scheduled to be taken offline today. In memory of Debbie, I have donated to keep it online.

After the first of the year we are having a “Hero in the Community” dinner. Publicly, some of those whose lives she saved with her spirit and compassion will honor and remember her then.

I never thought this would happen (at least not in my lifetime). After all the research Debbie and Ron did as to what the best treatment would be, and all the trips to Arizona and Mayo Clinic, I believed she would conquer her disease and prevail. I especially thought she would be okay after seeing her on October 23rd and seeing her eyes open and that she turned her head toward Dixie and her Mom and seemed to clearly recognize them when they walked into ICU. For as long as I live, I will remember Debbie as this petite, smart, laughing, forgiving, sharp as a tack, sprite. I'll never forget her. I've seen her sick and not feeling well before, once very sick several years ago when still back at their Tule Lake Road home, but most of all I remember her as smart and energetic and full of life. The last time I saw her at her and Ron's house I got the biggest kick out of her and a friend comparing tattoos. We were standing between their dining room table and Dixie and Mike's incredibly beautiful statue of an eagle and Debbie and Holly started pulling up their pant legs and comparing tattoos and laughing. It was hilarious, and fun, and something I will remember very fondly.

God bless.
