Donald Glascock Obituary

Donald D. Glascock 5/13/1923 - 3/30/2009 Don was born on his grandfather's wheat farm, Pearl Hill, located between Bridgeport and Mansfield, WA. He graduated from Mansfield High in 1942 and joined the US Army Air Corps. He received his wings and 2nd Lt. Commission at Deming, New Mexico. He was with the 374th Bomb Squadron, 308th Bomb Group, 14th Army Air Force "Flying Tigers" in China. He made 1st Lt. and was awarded the Air Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross while serving his country. He was discharged in 1946. Donald attended Portland University, studying Industrial Administration. He worked for Interstate Tractor, Caterpillar, a heavy equipment dealer in Portland. As the years passed, Don worked and retired from Don Johnson Ford in Aberdeen, WA. Don was a lifetime member of the Hoquiam Elks, Hoquiam, WA, and most recently made an honorary lifetime member of the Gig Harbor Elks, Gig harbor, WA. Don was preceded in death by Lindy, and is survived by their daughters Paula Via and Donna Hobson of Gig Harbor. In addition his four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and his sister Lois Lee Myers of Vancouver, WA. He was also preceded in death by Geraldine Rieby of Hoquiam, WA, and finally by his third wife and high school sweetheart, Liz (Christenson) Lippincott, and survived by her four children, Cathy, Chris, Debbie and Terry, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in his name to the Hoquiam Elks #1082, 624 K Street, Hoquiam, WA 98550.
