I remember his brother Les very well. I grew up on the Tacoma water front and my father and me started wrights marine towing when I was one year out of high school. Right before that my dad had a saw mill that we cut up old boom sticks with to make a decorative paneling called worm wood. Les would come by often with pieces of wood he wanted us to cut for a boat he was building. We always shot the breeze when he was there and I was shocked when I saw his obituary as he was only 50 if I remember right.

Truly a remarkable, kind, intelligent, and innovative human being. One of the best I've had the pleasure to ever know. I can't think of a time I'd see Don that he didn't have a smile on his face, a twinkle in his eye, and that enthusiastic way he'd talk to you, almost as if he was laughing while talking, a mile a minute, and always expressing his thoughts in a heartening and infectious manner. He was inspirational in so many ways. He was a great guy to grow up around, and I hope I can end up 1/10th the guy he was. Just imagine the times they are all having 'up over yonder' !!!

So sorry to hear about Don. So many great memories camping at the goldmine. Fun up at the lake and at the boat launches.
