Douglas Traynor Obituary

Douglas (Doug) K. Traynor age 73, loving Son, beloved uncle, and good friend passed away peacefully 30 January 2026 at the Gentle Home Care House. He was preceded in death by his father Richard, mother Margie, and brother Dennis. Doug was born in Arkansas City, KS. on September 21, 1952 and then moved with his family to Tacoma WA. Doug graduated from Clover Park High School and then attended Clover Park Community College for 2 years. He then enlisted in the United States Navy and served 7 honorable years as an electrician specialist on various naval bases and war ships. After his discharge from the military, he moved to Portland OR where he worked at the ship yards for a short time. He then moved back home to Washington State where Doug worked as a government electrical engineer at the Bremerton Naval shipyard for 30 years until he retired. Doug's joys in life included gatherings with family & friend, camping, kayaking, hiking, walking lava tubes/spelunking, motorcycle riding, and exploring roads less traveled around United States. Doug's final resting place will be at the New Tacoma Cemetery in the Veterans memorial section. Per Doug's final wishes no memorial service with be held. He will be missed.
