Edward Pierce Obituary

LT. COL. Edward L. Pierce, USAF (Ret) Died from complications of Multiple Sclerosis on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006 at his home in Roy, WA. Born of Franklin and Ruth Pierce in Wichita, Kansas on April 19, 1942, he attended Los Cruses High School in New Mexico. In 1960 he entered the Air Force, and was commissioned in 1962 through the Cadet Aviation Program. He attended the University of Hawaii, Louisiana Polytechnic, Industrial College of the Armed Forces, Golden Gate University, Webster College, and Air Command, and Staff College. He earned an MA degree. LTC Pierce retired from the USAF in 1981 at Keesler A.F.B. MS, where he was inducted into the Loyal Legion of Hurricane Hunters. He then pursued a successful career in Real Estate in the State of Washington. LTC Pierce is survived by his wife June, his sons: William (Sarah), Edward, Charles (Gail), John (Ann), and Richard (Teresa); his daughters Audree and Eydie, his grandchildren: Marshal, Tony, Brandon, Kathlene, and Nolan; and several nephews and nieces. Others left behind are his stepmother, Mildred Jones, of Los Cruces, NM, his brother, Dr. Allan Pierce (Penny), of Boston, MA, and his sister, Marilyn (Mark) Ziebell, of Yelm WA. LTC Pierce's services will take place at Fir Lane Funeral Home in Spanaway on Wednesday, March 1st 2006 at 1:00 pm. The family wishes that, rather than flowers, LTC Pierce's friends should please send memorial donations in his name to the COLONEL PATRICK S MADIGAN, M.D. FOUNDATION, PO Box 97215 Lakewood WA 98497. Special thanks to Dr. Anna Depold Hohler for her care and support. Thanks also to the staff of Madigan Hospital wards 6 North and South.
