EDWARD SAYLOR Obituary

Lt. Col Edward J. Saylor Jr. 3/15/20 - 1/28/15 We suffer the loss of our Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather. Born in Jordan, MT and raised on a cattle ranch. Enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1939. On 4/18/1942 he took part in the Doolittle Raid against Japan. After the war he was awarded a commission as an officer and served for 28 years. He was an avid fisherman, and he loved to travel with his wife Lorraine. He enjoyed working with stained glass and had a great sense of humor. We will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Lorraine, son Eddie, son-in-law Don, and grandson David. He is survived by daughter Charlotte, son Rod and wife Billie, daughter-in-law Sue, Darlene and husband Jerry, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wounded Warriors Foundation.

December 10, 2023

My father and I shook hands with Mr. Saylor at the City Hall in Enumclaw, Washington, when he was inducted onto the City's "Walk of Fame" in 2013. It was a true honor to meet him. I also honor the memory of my father, and speak the same sentiments for him, as well, as it touched both of us to attend the ceremony and shake hands with a WWII hero. Wishing you the greatest of Grace, Comfort, and Love to his Family, and descendants. God Bless You All - Tom Waller, Jr., SeaTac, WA

Ed Saylor is an American hero, & we celebrate his life for that. Still, he was a hero to me & my family for so many more reasons --- Ed & Lorraine gave me my best friend, Charlotte, 38 years ago, they were the best neighbors, Ed would show up & fix anything for us, when needed. The greatest gifts are the memories made at Ed's Lawrence Lake property, where our families enjoyed numerous weekends of swimming, boating, partying, camping, etc. Ed was a kind, generous, upstanding individual, who still lights up our lives with the stained glass lamp he made. We love & will miss him till we meet again. ????
