Frank Dashiell Obituary

Frank (Babe) Dashiell August 5, 1923 - October 20, 2005 Frank, lifelong Tacoma resident died peacefully at Madigan Hospital Thursday. His devoted wife of 60 years, Shirley (Quinn) Dashiell and his loving daughter, Marianne Olson of Gig Harbor were by his side. Frank was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He retired from the Navy after 21 years of service. Frank worked for the state prison system as a food manager at both McNeil Island and Purdy retiring in the early 1980's. Frank was an avid golfer and spent many days at Allenmore and Whispering Firs. He had an unusually high number of hole-in-ones, 6! Frank is survived by his wife Shirley Dashiell, his daughter Marianne Olson (Bill), 2 sisters-in-law Jean Matthaei, Sheila Pollock (Robert), 3 grandsons, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was dedicated to his family and no one will ever forget his wonderful cooking and sense of humor. No services will be held at this time.

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I will surely miss Frank and his scotch and sodas!He never failed to bring a smile to my face,and kindly laughed at my silly jokes.I"ll save a place for him at his favorite table! My best to you and deepest sympathy Betsi Daling
