Frank Zawislak Obituary

Frank Zawislak

September 25, 1944 - July 26, 2024

Puyallup, Washington - Frank P. Zawislak, 79 of Puyallup, was reunited with the love of his life in heaven on Friday, July 26, 2024, at his home surrounded by his children and his dear sister 'Sarge'. Frank was born in Tacoma on September 25, 1944, to his Polish-American parents, Marion and Genevieve (Lewandoski) Zawislak. 'Frankie Z' was one of six children and is survived by his younger sister, Genie Bartolac. He graduated from (and played basketball for) Bellarmine Preparatory High School in 1962. He was married in 1964 to his beloved Eileen (Holme) Zawislak who preceded him in death, and he always remained lovingly devoted to her.

After high school Frank attended Wenatchee Valley College and then joined the United States Army National Guard. Frank later worked in a carpentry cabinet shop and then became a Tacoma Police Department Officer and Detective. After a severe injury and medical discharge, he retrained himself and continued on as a successful commercial real estate broker at PacWest Brokers in Puyallup until he retired at the age of 75.

Frank and Eileen had two children, Tim (Lisa Cebula) and Lisa (Chris Manners), who they enjoyed spending time with. Their most favorite thing was being with their five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Additionally, Frank loved to golf, dirt bike, camp, fish, attend sporting events and concerts, and was also an avid 'hot rodder' for several decades.

A funeral mass service for Frank P. Zawislak will be held at All Saints Catholic Church in Puyallup, WA on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 11am (and Rosary at 10:30am). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to disabled veterans of America. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Gaffney Funeral Home, Tacoma, WA.

Frank and Eileen were two of our great country dance friends back in the mid 70's at the Caribou Tavern- among other places. We'd dance, party and sometimes stumble back to Frank and Eileen's home until sunrise. Occasionally, even the Uptown Country Boy's band members would party with us and another great couple, the Larson's, one of Frank's other police brothers. On the "lawful" side of the law, no one was a better, more courteous, fun and/or kinder person than Frank. Gone to the Hoe Down in the sky with Eileen.

I knew Frankie and Eileen as a young girl through car shows. They were the sweetest people and always had smiles on their faces. May they rest in peace. My condolences to the family- Carrie Dean (Brown)
