Best guy I ever toured by motorcycle with through much of the western U.S. he always had a clean joke and a happy disposition. Miss fishing with him on American Lake.

Uncle Gary, I just wanted you to know I was thinking about you, and that I miss you - I projected these thoughts out to the universe, but also wanted to document them more permanently here.
I was just watching a show that made me think about you (you'd have loved it). I can picture us watching it together and enjoying its mixture of witty, funny writing, and earnest goodness + positivity; I can picture your laugh so clearly. Its main character reminds me a lot of you...witty and funny, but never at the expense of others...deeply kind, and so skillful at lifting everyone up around them.
I can think back to so many instances where you lifted me up, where your mere presence buoyed my existence and experience of a time and place. Thank you for being such a constant, positive presence in my life, and for bringing me so many joyful memories over the years.
I'm struck by one vivid memory in particular - you showing up at my parent's house on your brand new, shiny silver BMW motorcycle, and offering me a ride. I remember being nervous at first, but as soon as I sat down on the seat behind you and wrapped my arms around you I felt an immediate sense of safety. I so vividly recall you powering the bike through corners with me right behind you, so completely in control of the machine; I felt so free, yet so safe in those moments.
5.5 years on from your passing I still carry you with me always, and although I acutely feel your absence in my physical life, memories of you still buoy my spirit as if you were standing right next to me. Your gift for making those around you feel safe, feel loved, and generally feel good, still lives on long past your physical presence on this earth.
I love you, Uncle Gary - I always have and I always will.

I first met Gary as a co-worker for Insulate windows. He was known to all of us as "The General" He was always very kind to me and at one point while he was training me, he allowed me to stay at his home and made me a wonderful meal on his BBQ. I will always remember him and be grateful for all he taught me. He was a true gentleman.
Thank you Gary,

Gary you will forever hold a place in Daves and my heart. You were a great friend, so glad we were able to get together last Christmas. I always looked forward to the time we shared, if I had to pick one word to describe you, I would have to say Genuine.

He always had a good joke to tell and a quick wit. I first met him back in college, right after he returned from Vietnam. Became reacquainted with him in 2004 through a mutual friend and had some of the best experiences of my life touring the west on our motorcycles. His chemistry and mine made it easy to meet and strike up friendships with people we met along the way. He is sorely missed!

Gary, you leave a big hole in mine and Fred's hearts, and I'm sure all others who knew you. You were my husband's best friend since high school at Clover Park. A great guy who never seemed to meet a stranger. My condolences and deepest sympathies to your family and other friends who won't find life the same without your witty, kind, generous and thoughtful presence. Until we meet again...

Gary and I were classmates. Though we were not close friends, I remember him as one of the truly nice guys at Clover Park.
