Parkland, Washington - With profound sadness, we share the unexpected passing of Gary Dean Meier on April 18, 2025 at the age of 78, in Parkland, Washington. Gary was born on March 8, 1947 in Tacoma, Washington, to Dean and Leta Meier. He will forever be remembered by his integrity, gentle spirit, optimistic attitude, and humor which always brought joy to those around him. He attended Mt Tahoma High School where he met his high school sweetheart and wife of 57 years, April Larson Meier. After graduating in 1965, he attended Tacoma Community College, earning an Associate of Arts degree. Gary then served two years active duty and three years of reserves in the United States Air Force. He had a long and commendable career in the telecommunications industry as a network technician, until he retired with 33 years of service. Gary is survived by his wife, April Meier; his children: Dean (Jen); Alan (Callie); Mark (Stacey); his grandchildren: Hailey, Caiden, Brayden, Rylan, Matea, Brody, Davis, Alice, Kayla, Alex, Abby, Zane, and Cade; sister: Bonnie Henderson (Jerry); brother: Steve Meier; and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life for Gary will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 12115 Park Avenue South, Tacoma, WA, on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception at the church.

I remember Gary from Mt. Tahoma! April and I became good friends, and I was delighted when she and Gary got together and married. I am so sorry for your loss. We were all so lucky to have had Gary in our lives.
