GEORGE CALDWELL Obituary

George L. Caldwell Was born on November 24, 1953 to Bertha Caldwell and Isadore Surrell in Watonga, OK. He was an enrolled member of the Northern Arapaho Tribe and spent much of his childhood on the Wind River Reservation. As a teen, George left the reservation and joined the Army serving for 20 years, retiring at Ft. Lewis, WA. George then worked at the Muckleshoot Indian Casino for 17 years before fully retiring in 2012. George was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Clarence Caldwell, and grandchild Jorden Saager. He is survived by his spouse Maryann Caldwell, and former spouses Jane Ward and Sofia Schouten; his children Yolanda Bluehorse (Saager), Jill Ihlen, and Gage Caldwell; grandchildren Branden Saager, Alyssa Saager, Chase Ihlen, and Rachel Ihlen; great grandchild Lilly Mitchell. George was an avid traveler, who enjoyed seeing the world and gaining new experiences, but passed away suddenly on February 21, 2017 while on vacation in the Philippines. Services will be held at St. John Bosco Church, 10508 112th St SW, Lakewood, WA 98498 on 7/28 at 11am.
