Geri Gellenbeck Obituary
April 22, 1943 - September 29, 2024
Tacoma, Washington - Geraldine "Geri" Gellenbeck, 81, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on September 29, 2024 at her Parkland home after a spirited battle with breast cancer. She was born on April 22, 1943, in Tacoma, Washington the oldest daughter of Fil and Cleora Stiltner.
Geri was a 1960 graduate of Tacoma's Stadium High School and spent her early working years in banking and finance. Eventually becoming a branch manager for Western Community Bank.
Geri married her greatest love, Buz Gellenbeck, in 1985 and together they ran her business, Gerco Painting and Drywall, until they retired in 1998. For their retirement, they bought a motor home with thoughts of traveling the country and landed in Yuma where they fell in love with the snowbird culture of card games, karaoke, motorcycle riding and four-wheeling in the desert.
Summers were spent in Washington spending time with grandkids, motorcycle riding, camping and conversations around an outdoor fire. Geri lost the love of her life too soon in 2014.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Buz, and her brother Kenny Stiltner. She is survived by her children, Teri Myers and Chuck (Michelle) Johnson, sisters Kathie Snope and Stephanie (Steve) Pinard, stepchildren Karie (Pete) Gordon, Ed Gellenbeck and Ann (Marty Stevens) Gellenbeck, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life for Geri will be held on Saturday, November 9th at 2 p.m. at the Elks Lakewood Lodge located at 6313 75th Street West, Lakewood, WA.
