University Place, Washington - Grace was called home and passed away peacefully on Easter morning April 17th. She was proceeded in death by her daughter Maureen and husband Michael.
Grace was the youngest of 7 children of John and Rose Doherty of Tacoma. She met the love of her life, Mike, and were married on June 29th, 1963. They were happily married for 56 years before Mike's passing in 2019.
Grace was a devoted mother of 4. Kelly Hanson (Ted), Maureen Matz (Dave), Michael Hart Jr. (Tiffany) and Sean Hart (Laura). She has 9 grandchildren, Ryan, Lindsay, Garrett, Emma, Catherine, Katelyn, Ben, Bailey and Brighton. She was blessed to be GiGi to 4 great grandchildren, Madelyn, Mallory, Jaxen and Reese. Grace spent her life devoted to her family. She spent her days living life to the fullest whether it be on the golf course, traveling, backyard family bbq's and definitely had the luck of the Irish playing slots at the casino.
Grace will live on through every person she knew. Her infectious laughter and smile will continue to be imprinted in our hearts and minds forever. We'd like to thank the staff and care givers at Narrows Glen Assisted Living for loving her and taking care of her.
A Rosary will be held at Gaffney's Funeral Home in Tacoma on Tuesday, May 3rd at 6:00 pm. Her funeral celebration will be Wednesday, May 4th at 11:00 am at St. Charles Catholic Church in Tacoma.
