HOWARD ELLIOTT

Howard Heath Elliott Passed peacefully Jan. 16, 2015 after 95 years of an active, independent, love-filled life. Born 1919 to Elizabeth Heath and Frederick Elliott, Howie graduated Stadium High School, attended CPS and was a 64 year resident of Day Island. Trumpet player in '30-40's in Sophisticates of Swing Dance Band. WWII Vet 8th Army Air Corps and retired foreman from ASARCO. After early retirement, Howie became a tennis bum winning PNW Sr Dbls. An avid, lifelong outdoorsman into his 80's who loved hiking, bird hunting, photography, fishing and camping. Sports and reading became favorite late-life pastimes. Preceded in death by beloved first wife Dreda Hamilton Elliot, treasured wife of 50 years Frances Walton Elliott, sister Betty Garbell, brother Robert Elliott. Survived by stepdaughter Virginia Hinds, much loved, devoted granddaughters Kari (Mike) Swanson Dickinson of Lake Wenatchee and Kristina (Ron) Thompson of Gig Harbor; 4 great and 3 great-great grandchildren. Howard's clever wit, charm, big smile and wisdom were enjoyed by many. A grand"father" whose presence will be missed deeply each day, but whose profound influence and spirit dwell in our hearts forever.
