JACK PRINCE Obituary

Jack and Greta Prince Jack Dorn Prince and Greta Arlene (Fritz) Prince went to their heavenly home just 12 days from one another, April 28th and May 10th respectively. "Jackie" was born Oct. 30th, 1933, a Yelm farm boy. He graduated from Yelm High School in 1951. Greta was born Sept. 25th, 1938, a Lutheran minister's daughter. She grew up in the Portland, OR area, and graduated from Newberg High School in 1958. Both were able to attend Washington State College. Jack took time to serve in the US Navy as a Chief Petty Officer, Special Commissary Services Manager, and to play baseball on the Navy team. He returned to WSC in 1955 to complete his degree in Agricultural Science. Greta began her vocation in banking in Spokane, WA. They were married on Feb. 27th, 1960. They had a daughter, Heidi, and a son, Jason, who spent most of their childhood in Puyallup. Jack enjoyed being a salesman and sold pretty much anything you can think of, from meat to life insurance to homes, garages, and barns. Greta continued in banking; she was a 31-year employee of Puyallup Valley Bank, advancing to the position of Vice President. She was dedicated to her community, serving as President in both the Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Int. Jack and Greta enjoyed cooking, traveling, fishing, and wildlife watching. They were very proud of and enjoyed their five grandchildren. Their retirement years were spent in their home by the sea in Newport, OR. A dual memorial will be held Saturday, May 21st, 2pm, in the Aspen chapel at Mountain View Funeral Home in Lakewood, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory to Our Savior Lutheran Church (38 N Bayview Rd., Waldport, OR 97394).

My heart aches for the passing of my godparents Jack and Greta. It seems like yesterday Greta got me sea monkeys(my first pet!) and Jack would take me on walks to the upper Puyallup River near their home or out for salmon on Fox Island. If love, kindness & a strong moral center are the standard for crossing over, it's no surprise then that Jack & Greta were blessed with the rare honor of being able to do it together. I could not invent a greater story of love then the actual story of the Princes...You are a tale for the ages & lived a life worth being remembered

We were neighbors of Jack and Greta in Newport. They were very kind to us. We so loved the smoked fish that Jack made and shared with us. They are thought of fondly and will be missed.

Jack and Greta were like 2nd parents to me and we were blessed when they became my son Jason's God Parents. When my kids were younger they would be 2nd grandparents since my folks lived out of state. My kids remember when Jack & Greta took them to Disney on Ice at the Tacoma Dome. They both had the gift of listening and not judging and unconditional love. We will miss them both greatly and blessings and love to Heidi, Jason and their families.

Greta was a special lady indeed. I had many business opportunities with both of these great folks. From Jack needing drywall in the buildings he was selling or Greta helping us with loans on business ventures and more. I am very glad to have known these two. My thoughts and prayers to the family at this time.
