Janet Moore Obituary

Janet Gardner Moore (Honeywell)
June 16, 1947 - March 28, 2023
Tacoma, Washington - Jan Moore, loving Wife, Mom, Sister, Auntie, and Nana passed away peacefully on March 28th, surrounded by family. Jan was born and raised in Tacoma and attended Wilson High School before graduating from the University of Washington in 1969.
A study abroad advisor at Pacific Lutheran University and University of Puget Sound for more than 30 years, she loved encouraging students to see the world and broaden their perspective. She is also an owner of the Double Four Tree Farm with her husband Bob, and loved meeting people from around the area during the holiday season.
Jan never spoke an unkind word and was a brilliant conversationalist. Her motto was always to talk to the people around you - you never know what someone's going through and you just might make their day.
She is survived by her loving husband Bob, her kids Scotty (Jenny), Andrea (James), Kevin (Stacy), and Kenton, her sister Linda, her nephews and niece Dean, Doug, and Cindy, and her adoring grandchildren that will miss their Nana with all their hearts. We will keep up her flower and vegetable gardens with love.
Remembrance and celebration of her life will be held at the Double Four Tree Farm on April 22nd at 2pm. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The Humane Society.

What a kind and loving friend Jan was to so many. Although we lost touch after college, we reconnected, again, after our children were grown. I treasurer the time I had with Jan, and will miss her deeply. She was, indeed, a very special friend.

I was always impressed by how Jan could give her full attention to a single person in the midst of the holiday rush at the farm. She had a gift of making you feel like the most important person in the room. Jan and Bob are like a second set of parents to our daughter. My husband and I have always felt blessed to know she was guided and loved by such a great couple. Jan and Bob truly helped shape her character, leadership qualities and work ethic. I will always be grateful for Jan and her open love and compassion.

Jan was always a smiling, positive influence in our group of friends. What a loss, the world needs more people like Jan! I can imagine she was a great Nana and will be dearly missed by all. My condolences to the family.
