JOHN BABBITT Obituary

John "Jack" Babbitt Jack was born in Centralia on June 16, 1934. He passed away on March 23, 2017. He served in the U.S. Army. He was married to his loving wife, Carol, for nearly 60 years. He had an outstanding 30-year career with the Tacoma Fire Dept., where he retired as a Lieutenant in 1992. He loved every day as a firefighter. During his retirement years he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and classic cars. He gained true friends when he joined Roadsters Northwest and spent many weekends at car shows. The retirement years were filled with travels to many places; the best was the African safari, where he got to see the elephants up close. He is survived by his wife, three children, Mike Babbitt (Lisa), Jeff Babbitt (Rebecca Blair), and Marci (Bill) Fox, and his grandchildren Alisha Babbitt and Paul Babbitt. He so appreciated all the friends who visited him during his illness, and enjoyed talking about all the fishing and hunting trips, and the fire department. His passing has left a deep void in the hearts of his family and friends, and he will never be forgotten. Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017, 11:00 am, at the Mountain View Celebration of Life Center Aspen Chapel, with honors by the Tacoma Fire Dept.
