"Uncle John" was like a third grandfather for me. He was a major part of growing up on Day Island. Whether helping with various wood or metal projects he was always there for me. I fondly remember his help on a JR. High Science project about how the "Galloping Gertie" and Narrows Bridges were constructed. He not only helped with my hypothesis paper but also the A+ 3D model that we constructed. My life wouldn't be the same without having his guidance and mentorship. I thank both John and Peggy for being apart of my childhood, which has helped me become the good man I am today. In my life and business, I am constantly reminded of John’s kindness, craftsmanship, friendliness, knowledge and passion for helping anyone who needed him. I will try to practice these ideals in my life in loving memory of my “Uncle John.”
