JOHN LAWRENCE

John Alfred Lawrence John Lawrence, of The Villages, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on March 26, 2010 after a brief battle with cancer. He moved to Florida in 1999 and spent 11 wonderful years golfing and enjoying the sunshine after retiring. He was born in Los Angeles on October 5, 1938 to Eric and Erma Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his ex-wife Jacqui in 2005. He is survived by his three sons, Russ Lawrence of Maple Valley, Washington, Jeff Lawrence of San Diego California, and Tim Lawrence of Placentia, California, and nine grandchildren. John was a journalist for the Tacoma News Tribune for 25 years, primarily as a sportswriter. His beats included the Seattle Supersonics and Seattle Mariners, along with the local Tacoma sports scene. An informal private memorial will be planned for a date in the near future. So long Dad. We'll see you soon.
