JOHN WHEELER

John A. Wheeler Age 85, passed away October 15, 2017. "Jack" to all his family and friends was born to Guy and Clara Wheeler in Yakima, WA. After graduating high school Jack joined the Air Force and was sent overseas, which led him to his future wife, Maria Hofer; they married in 1955 and were later blessed with three children. Jack and his family went from Air Force assignment to assignment, traveling the States and creating new memories. They lived everywhere from a small town in Montana to Anchorage, AK, before finally settling in Washington, where Jack finished out his military career. He retired as an E6 Tech Sgt. from the Air Force in 1970. From there he had a few other various electronic jobs until he found his final career with the City of Puyallup as a Traffic Signal Technician; he retired in 1997 after 16 years. Jack enjoyed his retirement, spending time with family, his garden, and going to his beach house. He will be remembered for his strong-willed attitude, wisdom, generosity, and love of desserts. He is survived by his loving wife Maria, his sons Jim, Dale (Penny), and Ray (Leslie), granddaughter Katie, and extended family Jody, Sam, and Levi. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Joanne. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 10, at 12:00 at All Saints Catholic Church in Puyallup, with a reception to follow.
