Joseph T. Marcelia Our beloved husband, father, and brother Joseph (Joe) Marcelia passed away on April 16, 2016, surrounded by family. Joe was 86 years old. He was born in Tacoma, Washington on June 16, 1929, and attended Bellarmine High School and the University of Puget Sound. Joe met his wife, Beverly (Bev), through a friend in the neighborhood, and they were happily married in 1953. After college, Joe had a long and successful career at Sears Roebuck. Family was very important to Joe. He looked forward to every opportunity to get together with them. Joe (Grandpa) was a loving grandfather to his two grandchildren. He was always interested in their lives and activities, and made a lasting impression on them. Joe loved the game of golf, and was a long time member of Fircrest Golf Club. Traveling and golfing with family and friends were high on his list of favorite activities. He especially enjoyed golfing with his best "bud" and brother-in-law, John Sinkovich. Joe was also an avid supporter of Quota International of Tacoma, and the organization has deemed Joe the original "Friend of Quota". He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Bev, children Jeff Marcelia (Helene) and Jana Marcelia Werner (Paul Werner), grandchildren Geena Marcelia and John Marcelia, sister Joanne Garrity and long time friend Kitty Clark, sister-in-law Mary Sinkovich, cousin Dorie Cassman, and many nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his brother Andrew Marcelia, and many close friends and relatives. While his survivors will dearly miss him, they know he will be warmly welcomed by so many. "All of us hope by now that, Joe, you and your friends have enjoyed a couple of rounds of good golf on the heavenly clouds of the great beyond." The family will hold a private service and memorial. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Joe's name to Quota International of Tacoma, PO Box 7023, Tacoma, WA 98417.
