I worked with Kenny on the Pacific Northwest Bell Testboard in the Plant Service Center at 119 East 7Th, Olympia, Wash.
We sat next to each other on the 5 position board.
We handled all of the remote exchange testing in Hoodsport, Shelton, Rochester, Centralia, Chehalis, PeEl, Curtis, Napavine, and Winlock plus backup in Olympia, Lacey, and Tumwater.
We talked about the ARMY and all sorts of things that we had in common.
I had moved out to the boonies and was building a house.
My neighbor Rich had helped me put in all the Sheetrock a real physical thing and would not take any money.
Sooo I took he and his wife out to dinner and they wanted to go to the Eagles for dancing.
We were sitting near the dance floor and this guy in the band turned around and I said that is Kenny Quick a guy I work with. I didn´t know he had a band. Well you know how someone looks at you when you say something like that they don´t say you are fibbing but you kinda see it in their eyes.
Well Kenny announced the band needed a break.
He starts out the opposite direction where we are at and then turns toward our table.
Denny how are you doing?
I introduce Kenny to my wife and the neighbors and explain that this was the end to dinner out.
Kenny leans over to Linda and said what is your favorite song.
Linda was buzzed and then Kenny floors her with well you can start the dance when we return.
God really makes things go just whoopie ding when you need it.
I thanked Kenny and we laughed about it later.
I told him I had taken them to the Falls Terrace and I had know the hostess because She had an answering service and I had worked there many times. But she was the Aunt of Rich´s best friend.
Kenny and I cracked up.
He had made the end of dinner and dancing just great for the neighbors and me.
Great guy.
