Landon Ahrendt Obituary
Landon Thomas Ahrendt, 10, of Kingwood, joined God's fleet of Angels Wednesday , May 21, 2014 in the loving arms of his family. Landon was born June 12, 2003 in Kingwood to Jaymi and Scott Ahrendt.
Landon's loves included: his mom, dad and sisters, his four legged buddy, "Cooper", anything soccer - his teams were the Houston Dynamo and Manchester United , Super Mario Brothers Yoshi, the New Orleans Saints, watching WWE with his dad, making loom bracelets, and Lego's Ninjago, just to name a few.
Landon's loving family includes his mother Jaymi and father Scott; sisters Haley and Teigan; maternal grandparents Casey and Peggy Varick, Gary and Bonnie Larson; paternal grandparents Larry and Gloria Ahrendt; great grandparents Tom and Vina Larson, Mabel Aune; aunts and uncles: Jamie and Erica Ahrendt, Jason and Heather Ahrendt, Cory and Lindsey Larson; cousins: Rilee, Hanna, Gabrielle, Kendall , Lincoln, and Gavin; and his "brutha from anutha mutha" Barrett Kenny. Landon is in Heaven with his great Grandparents: Don and Theresa Ahrendt, Howard Aune, and Keith and Lois Duncan.
There will be a visitation at Christ The King Lutheran Church, 3803 W. Lake Houston Parkway, Kingwood, TX 77339 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday, May 26th, 2014. The celebration of Landon's life will begin at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 26th, 2014 inside the main gymnasium in Kingwood High School, 2701 Kingwood Drive, Kingwood, Texas, 77339.
The celebration will continue at Kingwood High School from 2:30 to 4:30 with all of Landon's favorite things: hot dogs, cotton candy, pepperoni and cheese pizza, Laffy Taffy and popcorn stands. There will also be sports games, an inflatable obstacle course, and other activities that Landon and his friends love. Landon will be laid to rest privately at Forest Park the Woodlands Cemetery.
Please honor the family's request and wear L 3 shirts, soccer or sports shirts, and shorts, jeans, or khaki's.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the L3 Foundation at Wells Fargo in Kingwood. The Foundation's purpose is to find a cure for childhood cancer and help families like Landon's.

To the family of Landon
I did not have the pleasure of knowing any of you, but saw your son's obituary and it just broke my heart. There is no bigger loss than the loss of a precious child. May the love of God provide you with strength and courage. Landon is in his Heavenly Father's Arms and will be your guardian angel. His courageous journey can be a landmark for others. I cannot tell you how sorry I am for your loss of your beloved son Landon. I just found out today as I would have done my best to be there for you yesterday. Scott as I think you know I lost my son Matthew at the age of 23 in 2000. I just know Matt greeted Landon in Heaven and will take him camping soon as that was his passion. but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.

But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.

Scott, I am saddened to encounter an old friend with such heavyhearted news. It is obvious young Landon touched a great many lives. You've chosen such a wonderful way to pay tribute to his grand life. May the memories of his sweet smile bring you comfort during the difficult days. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Ahrendt household.
Watching the journey over the last two years we have seen the love of the family in their care for Landon and the courage of a child that far outpaced that of a boy his age. Every time we saw a picture with Landon's big smile we knew he was being cherished by those he loved. We will miss him.

Jaymi- Landon definitely received his strength from his family. He is a true fighter. On the way home from Stacey's balloon prayer last nite, Callie was talking about how cute Landon is and how we always joked when they were little that they would be boyfriend & girlfriend! Callie said that when the girls were on strutters together and Landon would be with you, she would smile and get embarrassed because of us talking.
