Laura Barton Obituary

Laura Barton
June 10, 1957 - March 12, 2021
Bonney Lake , Washington - On Friday, March 12, 2021, Laura Barton, loving daughter, wife, friend and mother of five children, passed away at the age of 63.
Laura was born on June 10, 1957 in San Diego, CA to Ron Jones and Irene (Osborn) Hall. She graduated from the White River High School in 1975 in Buckley, WA and married Jay Emry that same year. They raised four daughters, Dawn, Lee, Joan and Brook on a piece of property in Burnett, WA that they turned into a small functioning family farm. In 1990, her life took her elsewhere after a mutual separation from her first husband. She worked in various jobs, most notably Pacific Metallurgical in Kent, Washington. In 1993, Laura met and married Bruce Barton. They raised their son Austin in Bonney Lake together until Bruce passed away in 2007.
Laura had a passion for baking, sewing, making candles and pickles! She loved flowers and animals. She enjoyed sharing all her skills and gifts with everyone. Laura made friends quickly with her big heart and love of sharing. She showed her strength and determination to live life fully by joining a 12 step program where she found a support system that became an extension to her family. All of these things combined with bravery and tenacity helped her to battle cancer 4 times since her first diagnosis at the age of 39. Laura will be best remembered by her infectious laugh, quick wit, and enthusiasm for life.
Laura was preceded in death by her father, Ron, her step-dad Al, and her husband Bruce. She is survived by her mom Irene, her five children, and her three siblings, Cindy Keller, Scott Jones, and Mike Jones.
Due to COVID, a gathering to celebrate her life has been postponed till June. Look for additional information on her Facebook page.

My mom was the strongest women I know! She has taught me to live each day like it's your last-be present, be humble, slow down. Face life head on even when it gets tough. Her persistence, courage and bravery will always be remembered. I will miss her funny little things she would say out of the blue...her big open heart...and her never quit attitude! Lord I am jealous you get this angel now, but I am happy for her. She is with her loved ones and I know I will see her again someday. I feel her everyday in and around me. Love you mom.
