MARCELLA JOHNSON Obituary

Marcella (Sally) Ann Johnson Age 71, passed away on July 15th, 2014, in Lakewood, WA after a long and valiant fight with ovarian cancer. Sally was born on February 26th, 1943 to Thomas and Marie Disch in Tacoma, WA, one of 11 children. Sally is survived by her sons Trent of Tacoma and grandson Shotter; Trevor (Jill) of Selah, WA and grand-children Abigail, Zachary and Zoe; Todd (Debra) of Gig harbor and grandchildren Matthew, Julia, Jane, William and Elizabeth; Troy of Gig Harbor; Tyler (Rachel) of Seattle; Tyson (Ili) of Gig Harbor and grandchildren Annie and Andrea; TJ (Nicole) of Seattle and grandson Jack. She is also survived by her sisters Judy Skipworth, Susan (Dennis) Stranik, Diane (Richard) Figgins and brother Gary (Sheri) Disch. She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Marie, brothers Dennis and Thomas; her sisters Irene, Geraldine, Lorraine and Therese and several nieces and nephews. Sally's selfless, undying love for her children and family will never be forgotten. Memorial donations may be made to Seattle Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center or National Right to Life (www.nrlc.org). Special thanks to sons Tyson and his family and Trent for their special care and devotion during the last 5 years of her life as she battled Ovarian Cancer. She will be greatly missed. A Rosary Service will be Thursday July 24th at 7pm at Gaffney Funeral Home, Tacoma WA. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, July 25th at 11am at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Gig Harbor, WA.

Sally was always a happy person and fun to be around. I'm glad we were able to see her a few times this past year and truly appreciate the dedication of her family, I know she appreciated it. I hope we can see you all again under better circumstances.

She was a wonderful, classy lady who was so kind. I used to babysit for you boys when your parents lived in the apartments behind my parents house off of Pearl street. May God comfort each of you during this difficult time.
