Aug 9, 2004: I just now finished reading your email, JC & Deloris about Marie and am visiting her guest book.

I know your Mom had a good full life, Deloris, but it is difficult to lose her. My thoughts are with you.

Your mother was my mother away from home when we were all in Tacoma together. I can't remember how many times I slept on her couch. She helped me in times of need and was a true and loyal friend. I will miss her very much.

Give my condolences to her boys and all of the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marie always looked at the bright side of life.

Love to All - Vance

So sorry to hear of the passing of Marie. She had a long and interesting life. In the early 70's, I was in the U.S. Navy and my ship was in Bremerton for an overhaul. Marie very generously invited me to stay in her basement as her guest in my spare time. She was a sweet and kind person and even though I was a very distant, shirt-tail relative (Clo's nephew by marriage; my mother was Armero Jones' sister), she treated me very generously and as a member of her family. It is many years ago now and memories fade, but I do recall one weekend when we went to Mt. Rainier, with 3 of her grandchildren. I hope someone remembers that fun occasion. Please accept my condolences and realize there are people in the world who had a very high regard for Marie.

Sincerely Victor S. Mendrala, 12534-122 Calle Tamega, San Diego 92128
