Mark Jones Obituary

Mark Edward Jones Mark Edward Jones passed away unexpectedly on February 8, 2019. Mark was born on Oct. 26, 1955 in Tacoma to Allen and Betty Jones. Mark was preceded in death by our parents and our brother, Doug. Mark worked as a union wireman out of the IBEW Local 76 until he retired. Mark took a great deal of pride in his many electrical installations and electrical knowledge. At one point in his career he traveled to work in Atlantic City during the big casino boom. He has shared many great stories of his time there. Mark followed and took great pride with a family tradition. This tradition was started by our grandfather Allen Jones and continued by our father of maintaining and keeping up his house in excellent condition. Mark was constantly remodeling and improving his house and property. Mark is survived by two brothers. Michael and wife Marilyn Jones of Anacortes and Bruce and wife Kim Jones of Vietnam. You always knew Mark was present by his great laugh and zest for life. Mark was a very generous man to his many friends and charities. Mark will be missed by his family, friends and little dog Chi Chi. Be at peace our brother. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Marks two favorite charities the Mount Rainier Chapter of the Red Cross and/or The Tacoma Rescue Mission at 425 So. Tacoma Way, Tacoma, WA. 98402. A celebration of Mark's life will be held at the Sprinker Recreation Center located at 14824 C Street in Spanaway. The celebration will be held on 3/9/2019 between 2:00 and 4:00 PM.

Mark, I'm goiing to miss you. I'm sorry I missed your memorial, I only found out about it today (April 1st). I was looking forward to helping you around the yard again this year. Rest in peace my friend.
Mark bought his house about the same time I bought my house. Not long after, I met Mark walking Chi in the park and we started talking. We woukd talk for an hour or more everytime I caught him out in the yard after that. If he was working on a new project, which was almost always the case, I'd give him a hand. While we're working we would talk and if you knew Mark you know it was never on any one subject for very long. Family came up often and Mark talked fondly of his and growing up in the area.
I walk past his house every day and it wpuld be the same without him.
