MARSHALL PERROW Obituary

Marshall W. Perrow Marshall W. Perrow, a true Renaissance man, passed away after 101 years of life on June 5, 2017. He was born in Tacoma, WA in 1916, where he lived in the same house for 91 years before moving to Olympia in 2007. He was a very successful AIA architect for over 70 years, an incredible watercolor artist, served in the US Coast Guard in World War II, was a passionate sailor and private pilot, was a pioneer in the ski industry, and a very active community volunteer his entire life, supporting the arts, city planning, and education. He is survived by his daughter Michelle and son-in-law Clark Burkheimer; two grandsons, Ian (Yoko) and Alec (Theresa) Burkheimer; and great-grandchildren Kaito, Mia, Cale, and Camden Burkheimer. A celebration of his incredible life will be at the Tacoma Yacht Club at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, 2017. I met Marshall in May, 1981. He employed me for the summer. We discussed a project I had in mind for my 5th year thesis project at the College of Art & Architecture, University of Idaho. He taught me many things about Architecture. He was a kind man who took me out on his sail boat.
