Loved your music Michael. It inspired our band and a lot of musicians and music lovers in Seattle and beyond. "This Star on Every Heel" was a great record. Rest in peace brother.

I never met Michael, but was saddened when I learned of his death via an Internet search. I was looking for another old friend, Buford Moore, who built and operated The Walrus, a music venue in Seattle. Michael mentioned him in his intro to one of the fine videos he posted to YouTube, and Google coughed it up. So, I went looking for Michael to see if I could contact him to ask about Buford, and/or his brother, Rocky. At the time we were acquainted, they lived near my address on Madrona Dr. in Seattle. I would be greatful if any family member of Michael's would contact me. I feel like his love of the music, and his work helping substance abuse victivms. My email address is jdlarge at gmail.com. Please forgive me if I have offended anyone in Michael's family with my late and unrelated post. Even so, I offer sincere condolences.

I just found out about Michael's death. I am shocked and saddened. Michael worked with me and my family to help my son get into rehab. He was a very sweet and kind man.
My thought are with his family

It was an honor to have met not just a great musician, but a true, caring soul who has gone above and beyond to help those seriously seeking help for alcohol and substance abuse, he saved many lives and was well respected for his passion of sobriety...Michael, you left this world unexpected and much too soon. A legendary musician and all around great man that will never be forgotten...

The Class of '67 sends their deepest sympathy to family on Mike's sudden passing. He had so wanted to attend our 50th Class Reunion this summer. He will be sorrowfully missed. He was loved by so many! RIP Michael.
