Patricia Lundberg Obituary

Patricia Ann Lundberg Pat was taken home to be with her Lord and Saviour October 9, 2008. She was born in Portland, Oregon, October 27, 1929 to Dr. and Mrs. F. G. Salstrom. Pat is survived by her husband David, daughters Janice Crosta (Bradley) and Laurel Shimer (Peter), grandchildren Nicholas and Gregory Crosta, Kathryn, Andrew, Sarah and Christopher Shimer, sister Shirley Motz (Donald), niece Nancy Richards (Kent), and great-niece Ann Marie Richards. Pat had been an active member of The First Presbyterian Church of Tacoma for 49 years. The following is an excerpt of a letter written to Pat from her husband David on her 78th birthday. "It was August of 1941 when I first saw the love of my life, you were nearly 13 and I was nearly 15. I have never lost the vision of the most beautiful and athletic girl I have ever seen. I knew then, you would be the girl I would spend the rest of my life with. Our 58 years of marriage has been filled with happiness. We have 2 wonderful daughters who are blessed with great husbands and have 6 grandchildren all of who know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. I love the beauty you have brought to this world through the special gifts God gave you. Your gift of music, through your beautiful solo voice and accomplished playing of the cello and piano. Your gift of teaching, through your many years of teaching Sunday School. And your gift of hospitality, through the warm and inviting home you created not only for our family and friends but for many many more. Your Christian influence has permeated our entire family and beyond. Pat, your life these past 10 years has not been comfortable physically. You have suffered from arthritis, had major surgery, Parkinson's Disease, and now inoperable cancer. You have never said 'why me?' Your faith in your Lord has never wavered, you have trusted Him unconditionally and He has given you complete peace. What a testimony! I love you more than life itself." -Dave A memorial service will be held at The First Presbyterian Church of Tacoma Friday, October 17 at 2:00 PM. Memorials to The First Presbyterian Church of Tacoma Organ Endowment Fund.
